How can you be your authentic self online and still sell stuff?⠀This is one of the most common questions I get. Probably because the majority of my audience is made up of women (we tend to deal with this) and because I’ve been honest about the struggle..⠀If you need a dose of “Girl, I understand” here’s my reasons:⠀I don’t sell stuff because I don’t like putting myself out there. I don’t “sell”...because I would rather be liked. I don’t want to⠀push, ⠀sell, ⠀remind, ⠀or ask ⠀because I don’t want to feel rejected or made fun of. ⠀Oooh. There’s some honesty right there for me (and maybe you) today.⠀So, here we are together. You and me. Learning this lesson in real time. It’s not selling our stuff that’s the issue...it’s that we are afraid. We don’t know how to talk about our products and still feel genuine. We aren’t quite sure how to use our influence to ask for what we want.⠀Here’s the truth. The only way around this feeling of uncertainty is to walk through it. Sure, you may get people that don’t like it. You may even get some complaints or people unfollowing you. Or...the dreaded refund request. But sister, trust me. It’s okay and it’s GOOD! It’s like a right of passage. A mile marker that let’s you, and everyone else know that you are the real deal.⠀So, do you want to know why your sales are low? It’s because we need to hear about your products! And we need to hear about them often. Don’t just post about it once and then shrug it off,⠀Like “Well...I tried”. That’s letting fear rule the roost. Tell me about it. Be excited. Post about it, story about it and just put yourself out there. And when you feel that twinge of fear creeping in, or your mind drifts to all of the reasons why this won’t work...remind yourself that the only way around it is to walk through it.This is your time. Keep going!
